About the Book
As a St. Louis resident, Brooke S. Foster knows the best ways to experience the Gateway City, from must-see sights like the Gateway Arch and the City Museum to great Northern Italian cuisine on the Hill. Foster provides travelers with unique trip strategies to help organize their visit, such as “Blues, Barbecue, and Beer: A Legendary St. Louis Weekend” and “From the Butterfly House to the Gigantic Slide: St. Louis with Kids.” Including experienced advice on checking out the Victorian-era mansions in Lafayette Square, exploring the revived nightlife of downtown St. Louis, and seeing live music at the Blue Note in nearby Columbia, Moon St. Louis gives travelers the tools they need to create a more personal and memorable experience.
About Brooke S. Foster
Brooke S. Foster first fell in love with St. Louis during a 2002 visit. She moved to St. Louis in 2003, and that love has only grown in the years since then. Brooke owes much of her civic knowledge to her years on the staff of Riverfront Times, the city’s alternative weekly. She holds a BA in English from Rhodes College and an MFA in English (fiction writing) from the University of Iowa.
Brooke is the founder of Illumine Communications, a boutique public relations and editorial firm in St. Louis. Her work is rooted in her personal passion for an improved educational system, a greater devotion to the arts, and a marked increase in grassroots activism and political awareness. She is also a board member of StudioSTL, a nonprofit writing studio for kids ages 6–18.
Brooke lives in South City with her husband (and her two vocal cats) and enjoys traveling, cooking, and yoga.
